College age Drew (Scott Caan) is devoted to his (Leo Burmester), who was crippled by a stroke. Speed of Life features Drew (Caan) trying to care for dad, stricken with Alzheimer's. Speed of Life explores love and loss and time travel in a pretty unconventional way. Ann Dowd's attachment to this quiet, indie piece gives it a Leftovers vibe without being derivative. It could have used a little more Bowie-inspired creativity to sell the theme; but the genuine moments and honest dialogue. June (Allison Tolman) and Edward (Ray Santiago) are in the midst of an argument when Edward.

Our feature film Love letter to David Bowie. Watching The Speed of Life and it's really weird to see an argument I've had with my partner play out on the screen. Excellent idea - Stong reviews from well-respected film reviewers can make a huge difference for our strong indie films. And Liz I love "Speed of Life" terrific story & so well-told!
